The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Information (MOSPI) produced this nonprofit institutions satellite account for India, reporting on the Central Statistics Office comprehensive, nation-wide study on societies registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860/Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and its State variants.The survey was conducted between 2008-2010 and identified 31,74,420 such societies.
