Description
Nonprofit Economic Data Bulletin #33 | Lester M. Salamon and Stephanie Lessans Geller.
Demonstrating the nonprofit sector’s role as a critical counter-cyclical force, nonprofits accounted for all of Maryland’s private employment growth between 2007 and 2008. These data suggest that nonprofit employment in the current recession, at least in Maryland, is repeating a pattern we have discovered operating nationally in prior recessions.
