The Center team works with the project’s Local Associates around the world to gather data, apply the definition, and disseminate the results in the form of working papers. The Center team produces cross-national comparisons by integrating the newly-generated data into our master dataset that includes results from all 40+ countries that have engaged in the Comparative Nonprofit Sector and UN Nonprofit Handbook projects.

The project relies heavily upon researchers in project countries to carry out the extensive work required to assess the applicability of the definition in the local context and to gather the rigorous data needed to integrate each project country into the Center’s data set.
