Presented at the 2012 International Society for Third Sector Research and included in the ISTR Conference Paper Series, this paper discusses the implementation of the ILO Manual on the Measurement of Volunteer Work in Europe. To do so, it provides an overview of the development and methodology of the Manual‘s approach to measuring the volunteer work, and describes the European Volunteer Measurement Project’s (EVMP) efforts to promote the adoption of the Manual in Europe, and identifies the next steps needed to realize the potential impact of this measurement. This paper is also available in Italian.
